"Wakei Seijaku"

The verse is a quote from"Zhaozhou Zhongying Zen Master"in Volume 4 of "Wudeng Huiyuan."

師問新到、曾到此間麼。

曰、曾到。

師曰、喫茶去。

The master asks a new visitor,"Have you ever reached this point?" He replies,"I've already reached."The master said,"Have some tea."

≪Abbreviation below≫ The master then asks the monk again.The monk replies, "I have not reached this point."The master said, "Have some tea."The head priest then asks, "How is it? If he has reached this point you said "Have some tea."If he has not reached, you said "Have some tea."

The master calls the head priest.He responds.The master said, "Have some tea.
