"Cat sleeping under flowers"
The poem is "A Cat Sleeping Under flowers" by Shaku Baichi, the head priest of Zojoji Temple in the Edo period.
不追𨿸犬去昇天
留住人閒作嬾仙
恰似五勞猶病酒
藥欄風暖背花眠
Instead of following the owl or the dog into heaven,he remained in this world and became a lazy hermit.He resembles that of someone has the five toils and get a hangover.The wind blowing through the medicine cabinet is warm,and he sleeps with his back to the flowers.
